Maps

Since I started Source mapping in January '08, I have released four Portal maps, short descriptions follow, click the name for more information and pictures.

When Things Go Wrong

Although I originally planned 'The Beta Complex' to be my final Portal map, I couldn't resist the MyApertureLabs competition, especially since I was on holiday during the time I had to develop.

The Beta Complex

Started in June '08, spanning 8 months of 'on and off' development time, this map is currently my last big project for quite a while. Covering around 11 puzzles in 6 large, highly detailed, seperate chambers and including a 'BtS' area, this was made due to requests for more puzzles using the mechanisms created in the original 'Electric Castle' map, and can be considered its spiritual sucessor.

An Irrational Chamber

Originally created as part of the Thinking With Portals community map pack, this short chamber I created in a weekend was lying around my hard drive for about 5 months before I decided TWP was dead, and the pack was going nowhere. I therefore packaged the map up and released it on its own.

The Electric Castle

My first released map, 'The Electric Castle' started off as the traditional 'wake up' scene that several Portal maps start with. After the first chamber was created I decided I probably knew enough about the SDK to start making my own mechanisms, so these are used for the remainder of the puzzle chambers.
